The UC Systemwide NAGPRA Committee is seeking nominees for two vacancies – one UC representative (must be affiliated with a Native American studies program) and one Tribal representative (must be from a federally recognized Tribe). These requirements are established by CalNAGPRA § 8026 (a)(2). The Native American Heritage Commission, which oversees the nomination process, is advising that nomination packets be submitted as soon as possible. Candidates may also self-nominate. Forms and a list of required documents may be found on the NAHC website.
