On May 1, 2025, the Vice Chancellor for Research & Creative Activities Roger M. Wakimoto announced the revised UCLA Policy 995: Dual Use Research of Concern (DURC) to comply with the May 2024 United States Government Policy on Dual Use Research of Concern and Pathogens with Enhanced Pandemic Potential (USG Policy).
