On April 14, 2023 the Technology Development Group (TDG) announced that applications for the 2023 UCLA Innovation Fund were now open.
All faculty who have signed the UCLA Patent Policy are eligible to apply. Funding will range between $50k to $150k. Projects with significant commercial potential may apply for an exemption of up to $200k.
Eligible technologies must fall into one of two tracks: Therapeutics or MedTech (medical devices, diagnostics, and digital health). Collaborative projects between research groups on campus and multiple project proposals from investigators are welcome.
Focusing on therapeutics, medical devices, diagnostics, and digital health technologies, the UCLA Innovation Fund speeds technologies from idea to market, bridging the funding gap between academia and industry. Funding will be used to advance projects towards key commercialization milestones, enabling these technologies to be licensed to an existing company or a startup.
