Alejandra Elizalde joined UCLA’s Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research & Creative Activities as the OVCR Specialist in 2019. As a first generation, she graduated from CSU Channel Islands (CSUCI) in 2017 with a BA in Psychology and Spanish, and a minor in Chicano Studies. She studied abroad in Madrid, Spain and attended the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, where she completed her Spanish degree. During her undergraduate career at CSUCI, Alejandra worked as a Peer Advisor for the Financial Aid and Scholarships Department, where she provided support to diverse populations in the higher education system, including: students, parents and the overall campus community.
As an emerging professional, she acquired further transferable knowledge and experience working as a legal assistant for a boutique law firm that practiced personal injury. At UCLA, she provides administrative and analytical support to the OVCR department's operations including purchasing, reimbursements, the coordination of events/meetings, arranging travel and preparing travel reimbursement.
