Vice Chancellor Economou was particularly interested in seeding transdisciplinary work. During his tenure, the Office issued numerous calls for proposals for transdisciplinary research. These calls for proposals featured various themes such as applicants' choice, diversity and cultural awareness, health and informatics, and research informatics.
Interim Vice Chancellor Karagozian also was interested in fostering transdisciplinary work and she too solicited transdisciplinary research proposals for seed funding during her tenure.
